Wolfpack 5th Anniversary

Xander2KX January 2 2007

Time past certainly fast but it's not without effort that a gaming team stays alive. From my experience and from what I see everyday, a gaming team last from a couple of days to a few months. Very few are the team who can proudly say they lasted over a year. Even less and not that I've heard, 5 year, like it's been for the Wolfpack. For those interested, the complete history can be read in the section of the same name or for the rest who are waiting for festivity that will only occur at the beginning of Febuary due to my absence online not beeing at my appartment, here's a short resume of what Wolfpack is.

Originaly the team was created on January 2nd 2002, but its story begins a few months back in 2001 as my personnal group of friends and I called our group Wolfpack. Soon enough went to my head the idea of creating my own team in the cyber gaming world beeing bored of short terms teams. At the beginning, 2 good online friends of mine, DarKaTTaK and LeBoss002, helped me started the team. Soon enough the person who taugh me how to play Monster Truck Madness 2, Dart, joined us and finally, a guy I annoyed during 9 months, Ranger, joined the team and helped us greatly getting respected at the msn zone. 2002 has been full of fighting between us and... Everybody but a huge 3rd position for me in the last official msn.zone.com tournament shut some people up.

In 2003, it took a long time before anything happens. DarK's pc had burned out. The only good thing that happenned around march was me winning the 1st rank at case's ladder for the 1st time. It's only in october until the rest of the year that many great players, Impekable, GeNoCide and Slayer, joined us to make the Wolfpack the dominating team.

With the come back of a good friend, V3N0M, and Impekable the Wolfpack expanded for the first time in a new game which was Rainbow six Rogue spear in 2004. We got a lot of sucess back then but it was not enough. This game was starting to get old and cheaters were taking all the place so everybody wanted something new. It took a few months before I could save up enough money to buy myself a new computer to play new games such as Ghost Recon, the NFS Underground series and Unreal Tournament 2004.
What everyone wanted was started, however almost nobody was following anymore. So in 2005 we kept playing the games we choosed and tried to recrute. For unknown reason, we simply couldn't get enough players to ever call ourself a team outside Ghost Recon and MTM2. It was simple, a lot of people were holding us back from getting bigger and better. In september of that same year I proceeded with the cleaning of the team. Over 20 players got theirself clanless and many huge decisions were taken that same month. Expanding to Call of Duty 2 was what most members wanted. We had a rough start from october to december but at least, we had found the right place to take the team to a whole new level.

2006 marked the beginning of a new area. We officially left MTM2 and we put CoD2 as the official game of the team. And for the first time, we wanted to be a real competitive team. Helped by Collector, Shaden, Impekable, Maalox, Deconcrisseur and Infinity, Wolfpack was a dominating team in a game we were getting for the first time. Well known and respected in north america, we made our way to a good 5th and 15th rank for 4vs4 TDM and 5vs5 S&D at TWL. The 2006 generation of Wolfpack certainly was the best so far in terms of friendship and skill and we were ready for the next level; CAL. However, 2006 ended on its very last day on a sad note. Collector, the 2nd biggest part of Wolfpack at this time left. This was followed by the departure of 6 other players.

2007. Well it's just started. We just had huge losts. But I'm a pig headed sob and like I always said: this team will simply not die. 2007 may just be even better. Like a friend once said: We had many huge lost in the past but we always came back stronger.
