Newsletter June 2007
Xander2KX May 30 2007
The month of April has been so boring, it wasn't necessary to do a newsletter! It's true! What did happen? Getting ready for CAL, many unsatisfactory TWL matches And the return of CoLLecToR... As you can see, nothing important happened. Just kidding, the return of CoLLecToR changed the team a lot in terms in skills, discipline and friendship and achieved a goal of mine with his return and the one of ShaDen and InFinitY. Anyway, the only reason that kept me from writing it was my crazy schedule at college.

Cyberathlete Amateur League
Which really kept us busy during May was the preparation to CAL and let's face the facts, adding 1 month wouldn't do any bad. Anyway, the CAL-O season 5 is started and will do our best to win and have fun. The pre-season was nothing incredible with one forfeit win and 1 lost at the hands of Energy by the score of 11-9, which is respectable considering they are a very good CAL-O team. If I can give you some advices, our success will be made by many little task and objectives which every members will have to complete. Even if it's summer, the weekly schedule will be given during the Sunday's night by e-mail, website and forum which will need to be followed the best possible. The map and area names will need to be memorized. Pay attention to the noises, to what you see, only communicate the way it's already been talked about and let your team mates play. You will need to give the best you got at any moment and have a great attitude.
Please note, no matter our expansion towards 2007 and 2008, it is very possible that the CAL S5 will be the last we participate in during a summer. We will reconsider this next summer with your own schedule, free time and personal goals. On my side, I will have a hard time to manage my 85 hours of work a week, my friends, going out and the schedule of the Wolfpack will is easily a 12 hours per week for me and 8 minimum for all of you.
Total Gaming League
Since the present subject is already about that, another league we will participate in for the 1st time and maybe the last is TGL. This league is alike Cyber Evolution League, with the prizes for winners, the game mod, which is CEVO. However, no inscription fee is needed. This league aim a lot of the future “next-gen” games such as Crysis, UT3, CoD4, BF2142. TGL start a COD2 season for the 1st time. The truth is, this league barely just started but has a lot of potential.
Meeting resume
This past Monday, we had the 1st every meeting not organized by me in the 5 years of Wolfpack existence. EquinoX was the host et he did it a very good way even if I felt he was a little discouraged, since a lot of people were interrupting him and were talking about something not related to the subject he was talking about. What was talked about was about the seriousness you'll need to put into the CAL league to be a winner and to let your team be it as well. This meeting can be resumed by what you all need to do. This already been said before in this letter, but twice are worth better than once, and in this case, I'd say a million time won't be too much.
So, follow the schedule. Be serious. Persevere and be optimist. Silence during the league matches and scrims too. Only communicate the way we taught yo; which is in English, by naming the name of the area, the floor, the movement or the action. Example: Top Cellar down or There's 2 Top garage. Pay attention to the noises and to what you see and let play your mates when you're dead, they want to do this too. The only persons who will have the authority to lead the actions will be me and EquinoX.
Summer schedule
For 1 month only, until you finish school, the schedule will be the same, 8:00 to 10:00. However, it will change soon since there is no way for me to be there in time since I'll work up to 7:00 pm and won't be home before 8:00 without having supper and shower. The schedule, already big by the simple fact that we are in 2 leagues will be shortened since nobody want to past all this time inside the house this summer. So 3 or 4 days a week.
2nd Division
A couple of days ago, Demon2KX scared the shit out of us by leaving the team without thinking. By talking with him, I've discovered he simply wants more importance in the team. For that, we will keep TWL 5vs5 SD and 4vs4 TDM which he will be a starter for both. But that doesn't stop there. During summer, we will try to recruit 3 new players who will be part of a 2nd division. So, there will really be 2 divisions for the same game in the team, the 1st one being called the Elite Division. I would want to have a name for the 2nd division. I'm waiting for your propositions about that. The 2nd division will include Demon2KX, S!LV3R, DarKaTTaK who is coming back in the game, the actual members who will be interested, Nemesis if he wants and the 2 or 3 new members which will be recruited an easy way but won't stay in if they don't live up to the expectations. Also, there will be a possibility for the best players to join the Elite Division.
Website version 6.5. History 2007
The actual online version of the Wolfpack website is quite a master piece. But a little sad on my opinion. You all know it, I've been working for quite some time on a version 6.5 of the site which will be different in many details but will keep the same frame. I plan on finishing the design in a couple of weeks. With your help, this new version French/English will be online by the end of June. At the same moment will be available the 1st half of the 2007 history of the team for those who are interested in what happened with the team since the beginning of the year and what I thought about it.
I hope you enjoyed this last newsletter. On this, I hope to have a lot of good things to say on the next month about our results in CAL, TGL and to wish you the best of all summers!
