Newsletter November 2007

Xander2KX November 1 2007

This winter, Wolfpack is back”. We've take it easy for quite a long time now. Since the very beginning of June, we've been almost completely inactive. I won't be the one to say I didn't enjoy this time off. However, like I've said it for the past 3 months, I still love gaming and maybe more than ever and I look forward to see the team in action again.

You might be right to think it's not going to be easy and we are in some weird situation concerning the members. Many been inactive forever, some as long as me and it's hard to figure out who's going to be ready in November. That's why there's a small poll I will need all of you to answer and send back to me soon and why I have to make an assessment of everything just like I did 2 years ago before we step into COD2.

So if you didn't know, we are expanding in 2 games and leaving one. COD2 is now past for us and COD4 as well as UT3 are what's ahead. Now, on a personal note, I'd say I'm a little bit afraid of COD4 after playing the single player demo. It doesn't reg at all just like COD2 and most of us are pissed at COD2 for being such a random game. I'm sure the game is going to be worth buying, but will it be fun for a long time... I cannot answer. On the other hand, UT3 is a very exciting game. Even the campaign mode looks great, but we got to have in mind, we will be facing players and team that gained experience since Unreal Tournament 99 and it will be a pain in the ass sometimes. That said, those 2 games are our future for the next year, we'll see then if we keep on with them or change.

Now, Wolfpack is the home of 17 people as we speak including 6 inactive players, 2 or 3 to be still inactive for quite some time and most likely only 4 100% sure to get in the games we want between now and January 1st 2008. That in mind, we will definitely need everyone to be there to help. Recruiting will indeed be essential if we want to have fun and make the team look any good.

With our experience, we all know that recruiting is far from being easy. Either we can't find nobody or we find people that doesn't meet our requirements. I think I'll need to go easier on recruits from now on. However, I thought what would be good is that we invite people ourself to join us. We look around in public servers and pick who seems to be good and nice. Again, I'm looking for people of 16 years old and more that would be able to help with a few bucks every month for the servers. * One easy way to recruit would be to ask friends to join. I'd like everyone in the team to think about this and see if there's anyone that you know that would be interested to join. That's what I'm doing by trying to bring in for good my friend Matrix and my cousin Magnum97 and his brother to be called Marcotics. Think about it.

Without making you wait any longer, I make here a small survey I need each and everyone of you to answer and to send me in the days to come. Here's my own example and how I'd like you to do it.

Nickname : Xander2KX

Will you get Call of Duty 4: MW between November 5th 2007 and January 1st 2008? Yes
If not, do you plan on getting it later? N/A

Will you get Unreal Tournament 3 between November 19th and January 1st 2008? Yes
If not, do you plan on getting it later? N/A

Is Need For Speed Pro Street a game you might be interested in for online gaming? Yes

In the case of bad computer performances, an upgrade or two might be needed. To help you with this, I will ask you all to give me your computer specification for the CPU, GPU & RAM. Pentium D 3.0Ghz. Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS 640Mb. 2 Gb DDR2

Are you willing to be competing in leagues and ladder and invest 6 to 8 hours including matches every week? No, I can't schedule myself for gaming however I'm ready to lead in this.

How much time do you plan to to play every week? 6 to 10 hours

Knowing that gameservers.com price is 0.99$ for 1 slot and they sell their server with a minimum of 16 players for COD4 and UT3, which would make a total of not exactly 32$ + Voice server at 50% with a game server, are you ready to help with a maximum of 5$ each month? Of course.

Thank you for answering and not using the same answers as me.

There's a couple more subject to talk about so here I go. From now on, you will be required to wear the right Wolfpack tag in xfire and inside the games we play and nowhere else will be needed. On xfire, the tag is Wolfpack | Name. In UT3, only put WP as your team tag in the settings and it will appear as [WP]Name inside the game. Make sure you register with your nickname only and not the tag.

In COD4, it's still to be determined as far as how it will be and with what colors once the game is released. Until then, I thought I would let you guys vote for whatever tag you prefer, but instead,I'm giving you the choice of colors in to put on the following tag : Wolfpack | Name . The colors you can choose from are : Red, Black, Grey and White. You will be able to put have the tag however you want except in leagues and ladder match where I want a certain uniformity. Then you will need to wear Wolfpack | Name with the name and | in black or grey depending on what is looking better.

The website is pretty much out-dated and since I've quit school, I will have some time to put on and it will be updated with the right list of members soon.

Make sure to register at our new forum at http://wolfpack.studio2kx.com/forum. I will have to activate your account to make sure we don't get hacked again.

Well this is it. I hope you guys are as much excited as I am to this expansion and new beginning. Remember, for many of us gaming is far from being a priority even if it's fun. All I'm gonna ask is a simple participation of everyone when they can and never as an obligation. Recruiting many players will be the key to success. I will be waiting for your answers.
